Dental Implants Artarmon

If you’re missing a tooth and you work anywhere near the Hampden Road strip, or you’ve lived in one of the older homes on the eastern side of Artarmon for years, you’ve probably driven or walked past two or three dentists already thinking about it. We’re not one of them. We’re one stop down the line at St Leonards, and honestly, that’s often the point. A few extra minutes on the train gets you to a dentist who’s been offering dental implants near Artarmon since 2008 and isn’t juggling it alongside twenty other services.

A dental implant is a small post that goes into the jawbone and does the job a tooth root used to do. Once it’s settled in, it holds up a crown, a bridge, or a denture, depending on what you actually need.

What An Implant Can Actually Do For You

One implant, one crown, that’s the simplest version. Lost a few teeth in a row? A couple of implants can hold up a bridge instead of you needing one anchored to your existing teeth. And if it’s a whole arch that’s gone or going, implants can support a denture too, either fixed in or removable, depending on the bone you’ve got left to work with.

What we won’t do is tell you implants are the answer before we’ve actually looked. Sometimes a bridge makes more sense. Sometimes it’s a partial denture, or honestly, just keeping an eye on things for now. That’s what the first visit is for, working out which one actually fits your situation instead of defaulting to whichever treatment sounds best on paper.

What Happens Before We Touch Anything

The first appointment is mostly looking and talking. We check your bite, your gums, how much bone is actually there, and take a scan or an X-ray if we need a closer look at the site. If there’s gum disease sitting underneath, or a tooth that’s on its way out anyway, that gets sorted first.

Rushing an implant into a mouth that isn’t ready is how you end up redoing it later.
Age isn’t really the question, once your jaw’s finished growing. Bone and gum health matter more. So does whether you smoke, and whether you’re managing something like diabetes, because both can slow healing down. None of that rules you out on its own, it just changes how carefully we plan things.

On the day, it’s local anaesthetic, and nitrous oxide if needles and drills make you nervous. We’ve also got an IV sedationist we bring in for people who need more than that. The implant goes in, then it needs time to properly fuse with the bone before we attach anything to it. That healing window is real and we won’t shortcut it just to get you finished faster.

Does It Hurt And What Does It Cost

The straight answer is there’s going to be some soreness afterwards, sometimes swelling, and everyone experiences it a bit differently. We won’t pretend it’s nothing, and we won’t dramatise it either. What we will do is walk you through exactly what to expect and what’s normal versus what you should call us about.

On cost, implants currently start at $3,999 here, though what you actually pay depends on how many implants, what’s going on top of them, and whether anything needs sorting out first. We use Zip Money, SuperCare and Humm if you’d rather spread it out. Ask us for a proper written quote before you commit to anything, it should spell out what’s included and what isn’t.

Why Patients From Artarmon Choose Green Dental St Leonards

There’s no shortage of dentists on Hampden Road, and a few of them will happily fit you in for an implant. What we hear most from patients who make the trip is that they wanted the person planning the implant to be the same person who’s done it a lot, not a general dentist who does one every so often.

Dr Nazila Nosratieh has run this practice since 2019, holds a PhD in Oral Biology on top of her dental degree, and we’ve had three generations of the same families coming through since 2008.

We do our own imaging in-house, panoramic X-rays and loupes included, and we’ve worked with the same dental lab for years, so there’s no guessing at how a crown from a stranger’s lab is going to fit. If your case turns out more complicated than expected, we’ll say so and get you to the right specialist rather than pushing on regardless.

Getting To St Leonards From Artarmon

It’s genuinely one train stop. Two or three minutes if you catch it right, or a ten minute drive down the Pacific Highway if you’d rather not deal with the station. If you’re one of the people who works in the industrial end of Artarmon near the freeway, it’s an easy detour on the way home rather than a special trip.

There’s also the council shuttle that loops between St Leonards station and the Artarmon industrial area on weekdays, which some of our patients use instead of driving. Parking’s available near our door on Christie Street if you do bring the car.

Proudly Serving Artarmon And The Lower North Shore

Artarmon’s an interesting mix. Federation homes and California bungalows on the eastern side, protected under a council heritage listing since the 90s, and newer apartment blocks going up west of the station as more of that area gets rezoned for higher density.

Hampden Road does the heavy lifting for cafes and everyday errands, and there’s still a decent patch of remnant bushland out at Artarmon Reserve if you need reminding the suburb isn’t all rail lines and warehouses. All of that sits close enough to us that the short trip barely registers.

Questions People Actually Ask Us

Is it really worth leaving Artarmon for dental implants?

Plenty of people don’t bother and just go to whoever’s closest, and that’s fair enough. But if you’d rather the person planning your implant do it as their main focus rather than one procedure among many, that’s usually what brings Artarmon patients through our door.

I'm in one of the new apartments near the station. Can I get this done without taking a week off?

A single implant is usually a fairly quick appointment, though healing still takes its own time in the background. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we’ve actually seen your mouth, not a generic one.

My parents have lived in Artarmon forever and are in their 70s. Is it too late for them?

No. What matters is bone and gum health, not the number on their birth certificate. We’ll assess it properly rather than ruling anything out because of age.

Can I use my usual payment plan the same way I would somewhere closer?

Yes,we accept Zip Money, SuperCare and Humm, subject to approval. Ask for a written quote first so there’s nothing vague about what’s covered.

Can I get a second opinion before committing?

Of course. Any surgical procedure is worth a second look if you’re unsure, and we won’t take it personally if you want one.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries some risk. If you’re not sure, it’s worth talking to another qualified health practitioner before you go ahead.
